Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trovador Ramos!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Nitschke misses its intended target.
Ramos ducks under a wild hook from Nitschke.
Nitschke cracks Ramos with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ramos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nitschke's waist but Nitschke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ramos off to one side.
Nitschke comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nitschke takes a swing at Ramos's ribcage but misses.
Nice takedown defense from Nitschke. No joy for Ramos on that attempt.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown but Nitschke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Damian Nitschke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trovador Ramos.

Ramos closes the distance and clinches.
Ramos fails to pull guard.
Ramos avoiding damage.
Nitschke works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Nitschke looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Nitschke is pushing Ramos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Ramos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nitschke lunges at Ramos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ramos's hand.
Nitschke misses with a straight left.
Ramos ducks under a wild hook from Nitschke.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ramos looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Nitschke scores with a nice strike.
Nitschke lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ramos takes one to the side of the head.
Ramos fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ramos shoots in looking for a takedown. Nitschke tries to sprawl out of it but Ramos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nitschke manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ramos takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Nitschke clinches.

Ramos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd cheers as Nitschke lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ramos doesn't seem phased though.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ramos.
Nitschke misses with a looping right.
Nitschke bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ramos's head.

Nitschke clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nitschke pushes off an throws an elbow but Ramos leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Nitschke is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ramos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ramos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nitschke avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Nitschke lands a shoulder strike.
Ramos is working for takedown but Nitschke is calmly controlling the position for now.

Nitschke lands a nice knee to the body.
Ramos avoids the elbow strike from Nitschke, against the cage.

Nitschke drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ramos pulls his leg out and moves away.

Nitschke closes the distance and clinches.
Nitschke goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ramos is trying to force a seperation but Nitschke has the dominant position.
Ramos prevents a takedown attempt there.
Nitschke misses with a hook from the clinch.
Nitschke managing to block the knees to the body from Ramos.

Ramos blocks a body shot from Nitschke.
Ramos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nitschke is working Ramos over against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ramos is looking to take this one to the mat.
Nitschke lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Nitschke tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ramos's elbow.
Nitschke is leaning against Ramos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Nitschke has Ramos pressed against the cage, preventing Ramos from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nitschke lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ramos or not.

Nitschke has hold of one of Ramos's legs. Ramos is fighting the takedown attempt but Nitschke gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Nitschke passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nitschke postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nitschke is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ramos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damian Nitschke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ramos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nitschke throws out the jab.

Nitschke's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ramos under the eye.
Nitschke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ramos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ramos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ramos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ramos is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nitschke throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ramos on the side of the head.
Nitschke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ramos can do to turn this around?

Nitschke looks to land a left hand but Ramos moved out of range nicely.

Nitschke leaves Ramos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ramos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nitschke controls the pace.

Nitschke passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ramos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Nitschke looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nitschke looks up at the clock and then as Ramos takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nitschke smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nitschke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ramos has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nitschke scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ramos is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Nitschke can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
