Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Manuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee has chosen Superman's Worst Nightmare as his entrance music. Kerry Mcgee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cole Manuel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kerry Mcgee! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgee with a lazy takedown attempt and Manuel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mcgee's guard now. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Manuel connects with a couple of short punches. Manuel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Manuel won't allow Mcgee to sweep him here. Manuel is looking to work some ground and pound but Mcgee has wrist control. Manuel postures up.
Manuel tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcgee is retaining full guard. Manuel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Manuel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcgee can do anything to dispel that myth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Manuel trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Manuel postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mcgee is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Manuel, into his guard. Manuel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgee trying to control but Manuel is working from the bottom. Manuel seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Manuel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Manuel trying to keep a closed guard but Mcgee is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Cole Manuel just wasn't active enough. Manuel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Manuel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcgee sprawls well. Mcgee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Manuel gets slowly back to his feet. Manuel misses with a series of wild punches.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Mcgee has hold of one of Manuel's legs. Manuel is fighting the takedown attempt but Mcgee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Manuel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcgee looking to pass the guard. Manuel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Manuel is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mcgee trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Manuel manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Manuel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcgee is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manuel looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Manuel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mcgee dives on top into guard. Manuel controlling Mcgee's posture. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Manuel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Manuel dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Manuel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mcgee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Manuel to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mcgee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mcgee keeping moving, preventing Manuel from controlling successfully. Mcgee looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Manuel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcgee, up you get! Mcgee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Manuel's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgee throws a strike but Manuel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Manuel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mcgee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mcgee has escaped and now he's on top! Mcgee throws a strike but Manuel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Manuel passes easily into side control. Nice work. Manuel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Manuel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manuel throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Mcgee works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Manuel is thwarting Mcgee's attempts to control the position. Manuel is working for a submission of some sort.
Manuel tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manuel has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The referee warns Mcgee that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manuel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mcgee manages to avoid the submission attempt. Manuel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Manuel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Cole Manuel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Manuel working the ground and pound from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcgee is looking to regain half guard here but Manuel keeps moving and retains side control. Manuel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mcgee is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Manuel yanks on the arm and Mcgee is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Manuel.
