Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colon comes to the cage accompanied by let the bodies hit the floor. Roberto Colon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Colon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Carter! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes. Carter with a poor takedown and Colon counters with a head kick. That will keep Carter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Carter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Colon looking for submissions off his back. Carter working over Colon with some ground and pound. Colon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carter connects with a nice short shot to Colon's temple. Colon regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Carter. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Carter is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Carter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carter throws an elbow that misses. Colon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carter's guard. Nice move by Colon! Colon slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Colon is looking for a kimura but Carter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Colon to get the leverage. Colon stands up and beckons Carter to join him on the feet. Colon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Colon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Colon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter with a body punch. A glancing blow. Carter gets caught napping as Colon dives in and scores a takedown. Carter manages to retain guard. Colon won't allow Carter to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colon wants to pass the guard but Carter is keeping the position. Colon is breathing heavily. Colon won't allow Carter to sweep him here. Colon passes into half guard. Carter tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Colon manages to move to mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Colon controlling the pace for now. Carter wants to control but Colon is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Colon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Carter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Colon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Colon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Carter is squirming around, avoiding Colon's attempts to control the action. Colon avoids the attempt from Carter to control. Colon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Colon tries to control but Carter wriggling away. Colon avoids the attempt from Carter to control. Colon working for a guillotine from mount but Carter is in no mood to give up. Colon prevents Carter from getting the reversal. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Poor strikes thrown by Colon there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Colon napping and manages to drive through into side control! Colon misses with an elbow from the bottom. Colon sneaks back into half guard. Roberto Colon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Colon trying to control from the bottom.
Colon keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter wants to stand up but Colon manages to regain full guard. Carter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Colon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Carter is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is trying to stand up here but Colon is controlling him well. Carter misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Colon wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter is trying to escape back to his feet but Colon uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Colon has knee on belly and moves into mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Colon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carter is looking to escape. Carter is looking to get to half guard. Colon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carter's face.
Colon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Carter to take his back! Carter is trying to get back to his feet but Colon has full control of the position and if anything, Carter has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Carter prevents Colon from getting a body triangle. Carter is trying to defend against the choke here but Colon has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Colon Tightens the hold and Carter taps out furiously! Colon displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Roberto Colon! Roberto Colon decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
