Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zero Wait! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Limpa Chao! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wait closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Chao looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Wait lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Chao is staying active underneath Wait, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Wait works his way into side control. Wait wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chao keeps working. Chao tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Chao stops Wait from passing to mount. Wait moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chao is trying to control Wait's posture but Wait avoids it. Wait stands up. Wait takes the fight into the clinch.

Wait shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chao napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wait decides to stand up, so the ref orders Chao to his feet. Wait clinches up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wait unloads a knee to the mid-section. Chao lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Chao drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wait gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chao goes for a takedown attempt but Wait pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wait shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chao's guard. Chao controls Wait momentarily but Wait frees himself. Chao striking off his back but it's not causing Wait any problems.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chao throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Chao utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Chao is striking from the bottom but Wait uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Chao misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Chao manages to regain full guard. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chao doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Wait tries to free his leg and advance position but Chao is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zero Wait dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Wait throws a right and a left that both miss. Wait closes the distance and clinches. Chao wants to take the fight to the mat but Wait manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Wait's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wait changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Chao is looking to regain half guard here but Wait keeps moving and retains side control. Wait tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Chao wants to control but Wait postures up. Zero Wait overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wait advances to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Chao is squirming around, avoiding Wait's attempts to control the action.

Chao is looking to improve his position but Wait isn't that keen on the idea. Wait controlling from the full mount. Wait wants to control the pace but Chao is squirming around nicely.

Zero Wait dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Wait throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wait moves into range and clinches up with Chao. Chao wants to take the fight to the mat but Wait manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Wait has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chao regains guard immediately. Chao being controlled here, momentarily. Chao keeping moving, preventing Wait from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chao throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chao can do anything to dispel that myth.

Limpa Chao has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chao tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wait presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Wait trying to control but Chao is having none of it. Wait blocks Chao's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Zero Wait showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wait has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
