Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cabbage Patched (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Burcev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergey Burcev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cabbage Patched! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergey Burcev! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patched is looking to slow Burcev down with leg kicks. Patched scores with a sloppy right hand. Burcev should have avoided that one. Burcev throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Patched to counter with a crisp jab. Patched moves away from the strike by Burcev. Patched lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Burcev throws an off balance right hand
and Patched counters with a nice low kick that buckles Burcev's knee momentarily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Burcev misses with an uppercut
and Patched counters with a thumping low kick. Patched lands a slapping body shot.
Patched pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Burcev back to the cage. Patched follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Burcev misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patched.
Patched defending well as Burcev loads up on a big left hand. Burcev throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Patched counters with a single leg into guard. Burcev didn't expect that. Patched looking to pass the guard. Patched postures up in Burcev's guard and throws a big left but Burcev blocks it. Patched looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burcev controls Patched momentarily but Patched frees himself. Patched is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Patched makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Patched with a flurry of punches that miss. Patched distracts Burcev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Patched won't allow Burcev to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patched works over Burcev with some ground and pound from guard. Burcev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patched. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Burcev wants to stand but Patched is controlling the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Patched loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Burcev keeping full guard, as Patched tries to pass. Burcev wants to stand but Patched is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patched lands a couple of decent looking shots. Patched slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Patched scoring with punches and elbows. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Patched tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Patched has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Patched looks up at the clock and then as Burcev takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Patched smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Burcev is working to avoid the ground and pound but Patched connects with a decent elbow. Patched controls the position from side control. Burcev is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Patched is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patched remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Patched has hold of Burcev's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burcev seems comfortable defending it but Patched has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burcev is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burcev is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Patched couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cabbage Patched! After winning the bout, Cabbage Patched thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
