Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleks Nord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nord has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Aleks Nord has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ramon Rodriquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleks Nord! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nord leaves Rodriquez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Nord as Rodriquez shoots in. Rodriquez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Rodriquez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Ramon Rodriquez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nord tries a head kick but it misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nord. Rodriquez does a little dance to reset his feet. Aleks Nord is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rodriquez closes the distance and clinches up with Nord, looking for a takedown. Rodriquez pushes Nord against the cage but Nord circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ramon Rodriquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodriquez shoots in and bounces Nord off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Nord looks gassed! Rodriquez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rodriquez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nord's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodriquez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nord tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Rodriquez!
