Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Zhakatyz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Hardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gabriel Zhakatyz! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardy shoots in and bounces Zhakatyz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Zhakatyz has his foot on Hardy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hardy works his way back into a safe position though. Hardy trying to control the position from guard on top but Zhakatyz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zhakatyz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hardy manages to get himself to full guard.
Hardy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hardy being controlled here, momentarily. Zhakatyz passes into half guard. Zhakatyz passes to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hardy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Zhakatyz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hardy, who protects the arm well. Hardy is looking to regain half guard here but Zhakatyz keeps moving and retains side control. Zhakatyz wants to control but Hardy is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zhakatyz has hold of Hardy's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hardy tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zhakatyz cranks the arm and Hardy screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hardy, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Gabriel Zhakatyz!
