Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zak Houk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grash Mandicoot!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mandicoot tries to clinch but Houk moves out of range.
Houk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Houk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mandicoot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mandicoot blocks a jab.
Mandicoot tries for a takedown but Houk sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mandicoot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mandicoot jabs Houk to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Houk has closed the distance and engaged Mandicoot in a clinch.
The referee calls for Mandicoot to work.
Mandicoot is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mandicoot fails to pull guard.

Mandicoot breaks the clinch.

Houk scores with a takedown into Mandicoot's guard.

Houk gets to his feet. Mandicoot looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Houk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mandicoot, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Houk is looking to break free of the clinch but Mandicoot has double underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Houk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mandicoot is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Houk stops a takedown attempt from Mandicoot.
Zak Houk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grash Mandicoot.

Mandicoot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mandicoot shoots in but no luck this time.
Houk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Houk bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mandicoot's head.

Mandicoot gets caught napping as Houk dives in and scores a takedown. Mandicoot manages to retain guard.
Mandicoot wants to sweep here but Houk controlling him for the moment.

Mandicoot throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Houk escapes and throws Mandicoot's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Houk has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mandicoot is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Houk yanks on the arm and Mandicoot is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Houk.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Zak Houk!
