Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Montaigue Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Montaigue Rhodes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Brown!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Brown counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rhodes's guard now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rhodes keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.

Rhodes has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.

Rhodes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rhodes is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
Rhodes controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

Rhodes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rhodes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brown defends well.

Rhodes has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Brown is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rhodes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brown tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Rhodes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rhodes is working hard here to advance position.
An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
Rhodes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brown's best efforts.
Brown trying to mount his opponent but Rhodes defends it.
Rhodes is looking to control Brown's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rhodes avoid being mounted?

Rhodes looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Brown pushes past his half guard into mount!
Rhodes is desperately trying to improve his position but Brown has a good base and remains in mount.

Rhodes has given up his back here. Will Brown look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Rhodes wants to control his opponent's hands but Brown gets his hands free.
Brown doesn't have the hooks in and Rhodes manages to turn into his guard.
Rhodes scoring with some ground and pound.
Brown is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rhodes trying to hold on to Brown's head to control him but Brown postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montaigue Rhodes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Brown shoots in and bounces Rhodes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rhodes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Brown has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rhodes to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Brown is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rhodes pulls down on the head and he's put Brown to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Montaigue Rhodes!
