The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conway with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ko to score with a decent uppercut.
Conway clinches with his opponent.
Ko pulls guard successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Conway throwing strikes from guard but Ko blocks nicely.
Ko has his foot on Conway's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Conway works his way back into a safe position though.

Conway wants to stand but Ko is controlling his posture from full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Conway accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ko avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Conway stands and throws Ko's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Conway goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ko has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Conway but great work by Ko.
Conway parries the strikes from Ko easily there. Ko is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Conway to escape.
Ko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Conway has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Conway, who protects the arm well.

Ko wants to pass the guard but Conway is defending well.
Ko is looking for a kimura but Conway is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ko to get the leverage.
Conway won't allow Ko to pass to mount.

Conway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ko is working away from the top position though.
Ko is trying to control the action in half guard but Conway is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Ko in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Conway tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ko!
