PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chras Watsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Connelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connelly is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: rude boy. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chras Watsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Connelly!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connelly fails with an attempt to clinch.

Connelly gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Watsky has Connelly pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Watsky pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Connelly tumbling to the mat - Watsky dives into Connelly's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Watsky with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Watsky tries to stand but Connelly is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Watsky throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connelly is trying to control the position but Watsky postures up.
Watsky throwing strikes from guard but Connelly blocks nicely.

Connelly looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Watsky throws an elbow that misses. Connelly uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Watsky's guard. Nice move by Connelly!
Connelly tries to stand but Watsky is controlling from the bottom.
Watsky is pulling down on Connelly's head. It's preventing any offense from Connelly, at least for the moment.
Watsky is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Watsky misses with an uppercut. Connelly saw that one coming.

Connelly closes the distance and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Watsky is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Connelly gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Connelly lands an uppercut.
A frustrated look appears on Connelly's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Connelly has Watsky pushed against the cage.
Watsky wants a takedown but no success here.
Watsky drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Connelly gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chras Watsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Watsky misses with a short punch on the inside.
Watsky tries to score a body lock takedown but Connelly shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Connelly breaks from the clinch.
Connelly moves out of range of the body kick from Watsky.
Connelly scores with a jab.
Watsky tries to clinch but Connelly moves out of range.
Connelly tries to clinch up.
Connelly moves to clinch but Watsky breaks away

and Watsky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Connelly gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Watsky.

Connelly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Watsky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Connelly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Watsky moves into the clinch.
Watsky tries to throw a body punch but Connelly avoids it by throwing Watsky back against the cage.

Watsky tries to land a knee to the head but Connelly blocks with his arms.

Connelly lands a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Watsky wants to control the position but Connelly says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Watsky is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Watsky is controlling Connelly's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Connelly throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Connelly will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Watsky takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Watsky circles away from the clinch attempt

and Watsky counters with a shoot takedown. Connelly fights it but they end up in guard.
Watsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Connelly wants to hit a switch here but Watsky passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Connelly there!
Watsky lands a big elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Connelly keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Connelly wants to hold on but Watsky pushes him away.
Watsky scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watsky thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Connelly throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Connelly is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Watsky avoids the attempt from Connelly to control.
Watsky has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Connelly's face.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Watsky cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Connelly really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Watsky raining down hammerfists from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Connelly tries to hold on but Watsky pushes him away.

Watsky looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Connelly tries to lock up and control but Watsky gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Connelly is trying to stand.
A nice elbow there by Watsky.
Watsky landing punches.
Watsky working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Connelly tries to hold on but Watsky pushes him away.
Watsky is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Connelly can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connelly is wriggling around trying to escape.
Connelly is breathing heavily.
Watsky unloading with bombs!
Watsky lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Connelly is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Watsky! Connelly is hurt baaadly! Watsky is firing away with more strikes - Connelly is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chras Watsky!
Chras Watsky decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
