Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chras Watsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chras Watsky!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watsky wants to clinch up but Rush keeps it at a distance.
Watsky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rush.

Rush gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rush controlling the pace.
Rush's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Watsky tries to get to full guard but Rush has control of the leg.
Watsky is trying to stand up here but Rush is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rush gets to his feet - Watsky follows without any prompting.

Rush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chras Watsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rush scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Watsky wants to improve his position but Rush is controlling well.
Rush will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Watsky tries to kick Rush off but Rush keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rush stands up and beckons Watsky to join him on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rush shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rush was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A big left from Watsky misses.

Watsky pushes Rush up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rush takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Rush shoots in and drives through. Watsky sprawls well.

Rush is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Watsky's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcus Rush will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Rush or perhaps it was just good defense by Watsky which made him look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcus Rush.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rush, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
