PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruce Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Acton!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sanders waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Acton.
Acton slips under a jab from Sanders.
Sanders shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Acton pinned against the cage. Acton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sanders changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Acton tries to avoid it but Sanders manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Acton to the ground. Acton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Acton as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Sanders. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanders misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Acton takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Frank Acton has been cut.
The fighters circling - Sanders throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanders misses with a double jab.
Bruce Sanders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanders throws out a loose jab but Acton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Acton dodges the punch combination from Sanders.
Acton drops his hands momentarily and Sanders takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Acton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Acton is looking for a kimura here.
Acton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanders keeps working.

Sanders is defending against the submission attempts here by Acton.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sanders trying to control but Acton postures up.
Sanders works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanders has his feet on Acton's thighs here. He's pushed Acton off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Acton screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
