Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trequan Adam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Circle Jerk! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Jerk lands a left hand that snaps the head of Adam backwards. Jerk can't break the clinch.
Adam has Jerk pressed against the cage, preventing Jerk from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Adam goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jerk prevents it.
Jerk wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Adam wants to take the fight to the mat but Jerk manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Adam is trying to drag Jerk to the mat but Jerk just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trequan Adam. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jerk manages to break the clinch.
Jerk cracks Adam with a good jab.
It looks like Trequan Adam has been cut. Adam takes one to the side of the head.
Adam could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Adam darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jerk tries to kick Adam off but Adam keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adam looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Adam performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jerk is trying to stand up here but Adam is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jerk kicks Adam off and gets back to his feet. Jerk lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Jerk digs a good hook to Adam's body.
This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Jerk. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jerk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Adam is breathing heavily. Jerk feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Adams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Adam is rocked! Jerk connects with a body shot. Oh Adam is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jerk pounces like a tiger and cracks Adam with a vicious hook! Adam is down but not out! Jerk follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Circle Jerk!
