Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg LaFleche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Gallas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg LaFleche! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Gallas! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gallas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from LaFleche. LaFleche tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Gallas misses with a two punch combination.
Gallas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from LaFleche. Gallas throws a nice looking combination but LaFleche bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gallas checks a leg kick nicely. LaFleche lands with an overhand left. Gallas moves away from the strike by LaFleche. Gallas shoots in but no luck this time. LaFleche throws a right and a left that both miss. Gallas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. William Gallas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gallas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from LaFleche. Gallas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and LaFleche counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gallas!
That's one minute gone in the round. LaFleche lands a heavy elbow. Gallas is looking to improve his position but LaFleche isn't that keen on the idea. LaFleche tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. LaFleche punishing his opponent with strikes. LaFleche sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gallas is looking to improve his position but LaFleche isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! LaFleche connects with a massive shot to the dome!
LaFleche knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gallas on the ground. LaFleche controlling from mount.

and LaFleche decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gallas's guard. Gallas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gallas tries to get to full guard but LaFleche has control of the leg. LaFleche wants to free his trapped foot but Gallas is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gallas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. LaFleche throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. LaFleche blocks a jab. Nice straight punches there by LaFleche. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of LaFleche. Danga de danga de dang - Gallas scores with a four punch combination! LaFleche throws a series of punches but Gallas moves out of range. LaFleche throws the left hand but Gallas avoids the punch easily. LaFleche throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Gallas with a lazy takedown attempt and LaFleche counters with a single leg into guard. Gallas didn't expect that. LaFleche is stalling in the full guard. Gallas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. LaFleche is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gallas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take LaFleche's back instead. LaFleche manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gallas's guard. Nice work there by LaFleche.

That's one minute gone in the round. LaFleche sitting in guard, not really doing much. LaFleche passes Gallas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gallas is looking to improve his position.
LaFleche keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. LaFleche winds up and cracks Gallas with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gallas wants to get back to full guard but LaFleche has mounted him! Gallas is bucking up trying to escape but LaFleche cracks him with another couple of good strikes. A nice elbow there by LaFleche. LaFleche tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LaFleche's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. LaFleche cracks Gallas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round. LaFleche controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gallas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. LaFleche content to stall in guard here. Gallas has an active guard here but LaFleche has managed to pass into half guard.
Gallas is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but LaFleche pulls his head out easily. Gallas is looking for a sweep. LaFleche is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gallas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gallas blocking the ground and pound attempt from LaFleche. LaFleche wants to take a breather but Gallas is having none of it. Gallas has hold of LaFleche's hands but LaFleche slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A choreographed right hand from LaFleche misses the target. LaFleche buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Good work by LaFleche as he checks the leg kick. Gallas misses with a takedown attempt and LaFleche counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gallas won't be happy with that. Greg LaFleche has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Gallas. A lull in the action here. Gallas tries to bench press LaFleche off him but LaFleche keeps the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. LaFleche content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gallas tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LaFleche works his way back into a safe position though. LaFleche looking to control the position here, rather than advance. LaFleche seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gallas for as long as he can get away with. LaFleche works over Gallas with some ground and pound from guard. Gallas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaFleche gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. LaFleche stays in close to Gallas's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gallas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gallas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. LaFleche doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gallas is tightening it up a little... LaFleche has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! LaFleche reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! LaFleche taps out! nice BJJ there by Gallas!
