Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Woolett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson misses with a two punch combination.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Woolett fails with the takedown

and Ferguson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Woolett!
Ferguson looking to control but Woolett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Woolett bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Woolett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ferguson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ferguson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ferguson!
Ferguson scores with a couple of short elbows.
Ferguson lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Woolett is trying to improve his position.

Ferguson is trying to get an arm triangle but Woolett is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferguson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ferguson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Woolett manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson wants to take a breather but Woolett is having none of it.
Ferguson wants to stand up but Woolett has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Woolett is pressing down on Ferguson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Woolett looking for a guillotine here but Ferguson defends easily.
Ferguson trying to control the position from guard on top but Woolett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Woolett is looking for a triangle but Ferguson pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson passes Woolett's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Woolett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Woolett is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ferguson pulls his head out easily.
Ferguson tries to stand and escape but Woolett is controlling the position.
Ferguson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Ferguson trying to control from half guard but Woolett is working away.

Woolett looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Woolett is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ferguson pulls his head out easily.
Woolett wants to get back to full guard.
Ferguson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Woolett keeps working.
It looks like Ferguson is going to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Woolett is in trouble now - Ferguson has advanced to mount!
Woolett can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BJ Ferguson dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Woolett enables Ferguson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Woolett manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ferguson wants to pass the guard but Woolett is keeping the position.

Woolett has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ferguson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Woolett has tightened it up now! Ferguson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Shawn Woolett!
