Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rock Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Gullion!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gullion avoids the body shot from Johnson.
An inside leg kick lands from Johnson.
Johnson throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Gullion counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gullion.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Gullion is having none of it.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rock Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Gullion shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

We're going to have a standup here because Rock Johnson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Gullion avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gullion to the mat! Gullion manages to get full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gullion swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Gullion circles away.
Gullion shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gullion.
Gullion shoots in but no luck this time.
Rock Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rock Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

It looks like Jeremy Gullion has been cut.
Gullion is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gullion for as long as he can get away with.
Johnson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gullion because Johnson loaded up on that one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rock Johnson.

Johnson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gullion won't be happy with that.
Rock Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Gullion.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Gullion avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Johnson.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock Johnson dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Jeremy Gullion's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Johnson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gullion sprawls well. Gullion wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gullion.
Gullion takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jeremy Gullion is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gullion tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gullion takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Johnson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rock Johnson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Johnson throws a push kick but Gullion slaps the foot to one side.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gullion napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Johnson takes a little break here. Gullion wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Gullion is pushing Johnson's head away, looking to escape. Johnson manages to hold on to the position though.

Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Rock Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rock Johnson.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gullion slips under a jab.
Good leg kick by Johnson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gullion defends it nicely.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson looks to land a right hand but Gullion moved out of range.
Gullion with a poor takedown
and Johnson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gullion's knee momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rock Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
