Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harvi Kalaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodriguez Julien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kalaso might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hank Williams SR. . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Kalaso counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Julien lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kalaso circles away quickly and effectively.
Kalaso fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Julien sprawls well initially but Kalaso persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Harvi Kalaso.

Julien is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kalaso is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Julien to the mat. Julien regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Julien has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kalaso can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kalaso! Julien is hurt baaadly! Kalaso is firing away with more strikes - Julien is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

After the fight, Harvi Kalaso was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
