Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sones Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benedict Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader has chosen Kanye West & Jay-Z- Never let me down as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sones Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benedict Vader!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson moves out of range as Vader throws a body kick.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vader counters with a nice uppercut.
Vader shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.
Vader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vader lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Johnson fails with the takedown.
Vader tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vader decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Vader missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Vader stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Johnson to get to his feet.
Vader drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vader decides to stand back up. Vader steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.
Vader misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Vader rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vader looks gassed!
Nice sprawl there from Vader as Johnson shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sones Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vader tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Vader misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vader slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vader throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Vader counters by clinching up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Vader manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Vader keeps moving.
Johnson slips nicely into half guard.
Vader is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vader wants to get back to his feet.
Vader tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vader is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is trying for a kimura here. Vader looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Johnson wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sones Johnson!
