The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to clinch there but Arslan circles away.
Arslan shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Arslan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Arslan is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
