Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Crillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Crillo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Souza. Crillo does a little dance to reset his feet. Souza looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Crillo! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Crillo holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Souza tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's one minute gone in the round. Crillo regains half guard. Souza is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Souza thows a huge punch but Crillo dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crillo is holding on to half guard well. Souza is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Crillo defends it well. Souza is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crillo is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crillo is defending against the submission attempts here by Souza.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Souza throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Crillo to regain full guard. Souza preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fabio Souza dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Crillo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Souza's half guard. Souza is looking for a sweep. Crillo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ground and pound from Crillo. Souza blocking the ground and pound attempt from Crillo. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souza blocking the ground and pound attempt from Crillo. Crillo is looking to stall here but Souza recovers full guard. Crillo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Souza is keeping the position for now. Crillo is fighting to break Souza's control of his arms but Souza is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Crillo with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crillo throws a big right hand that misses. Crillo throws a strike but Souza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Crillo wants to stand but Souza is controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crillo can do anything to dispel that myth. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Crillo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Frank Crillo. Souza looking to score a takedown here. Crillo is defending well but Souza drives through and ends up in Crillo's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crillo looking for a sweep. Not yet Crillo, not yet. Crillo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Souza! Crillo misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Crillo cracks Souza with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Souza blocking the ground and pound. Crillo looking to control but Souza is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Crillo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Souza?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crillo working Souza over with strikes here. Crillo landing punches. Crillo cracks Souza with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Souza is rocked! Crillo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Oh Souza is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Crillo loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Souza scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Crillo land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Crillo stands and salutes the crowd.
