Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Miguel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Sam Miguel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 28 - 1, fighting out of London, Bert Ernie!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ernie drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ernie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Miguel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Miguel pulls Ernie in close to prevent any damage.
Ernie is pushing down on Miguel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Miguel is fighting to maintain full guard but Ernie has managed to sneak the leg through.
Miguel is positioning himself well to prevent Ernie advancing to mount.

Miguel pushes Ernie off and gets back to his feet.

Miguel clinches up against the cage.
Ernie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Miguel pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Miguel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ernie is looking to clinch but Miguel is avoiding it.
Ernie shoots in looking for a takedown. Miguel tries to sprawl out of it but Ernie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Miguel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Miguel moves in looking to clinch but Ernie pushes him off.
Miguel doesn't manage to clinch there - Ernie circles away.
Ernie is looking to clinch but Miguel is avoiding it.

Miguel moves into range and clinches up with Ernie.
Ernie is trying to force a seperation but Miguel has the dominant position.
Miguel tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ernie avoids it.
Ernie on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Miguel decides to pull guard.
Ernie trying to control but Miguel is working from the bottom.

Miguel keeping moving, preventing Ernie from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miguel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Miguel gets a takedown into half guard.
Ernie is trying to control but can't.

Miguel stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ernie to get to his feet.

Miguel throws a nice looking combination but Ernie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ernie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ernie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Miguel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Miguel tries to clinch there but Ernie circles away.
Ernie swats away the attempt to clinch by Miguel.

Nice body punch from Miguel - that landed with a thud.

Miguel gets control of Ernie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Miguel will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ernie trying to control the position from guard on top but Miguel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Miguel throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Ernie throws a big right hand that misses.
Ernie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Miguel is trying to keep Ernie in close.
Ernie throws a strike but Miguel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ernie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Miguel dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ernie blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Miguel throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ernie blocks it with crossed arms.
Miguel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ernie's elbow.
Ernie is trying to drag Miguel to the mat but Miguel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miguel gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Miguel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ernie is defended easily by Miguel.
Miguel closes the distance and clinches up with Ernie, looking for a takedown. Miguel pushes Ernie against the cage but Ernie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miguel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Miguel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ernie fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Miguel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Ernie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Miguel works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ernie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miguel to the mat! Miguel manages to get full guard.

Ernie shoots for a double leg takedown but Miguel sprawls well. He's pushed Ernie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Miguel misses with a takedown attempt - Ernie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ernie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Miguel but Miguel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sam Miguel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bert Ernie.

Ernie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Ernie misses with the combination.
Miguel shoots in looking for a takedown. Ernie tries to sprawl out of it but Miguel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ernie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Miguel dives in and grabs Ernie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ernie pushes down on Miguel's head and hops out.

Ernie gets the takedown into side control.
Miguel avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ernie.
Miguel tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Ernie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ernie tries to advance to mount but Miguel denies him.
The strikes coming from Ernie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ernie throwing strikes but Miguel manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Miguel decides to stand back up. Miguel steps back and let's Ernie get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miguel tries for a takedown but Ernie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ernie shoots in and drives through. Miguel sprawls well.

Miguel closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ernie's guard.

Ernie wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Miguel is now in half guard.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sam Miguel!
A very excited looking Sam Miguel made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
