Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walther Leone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Walther Leone has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walther Leone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leone clinches with his opponent.
Leone has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Leone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jackson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jackson successfully pulls guard.
Leone wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Leone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Leone could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Leone sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Leone scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jackson in his tracks.
Leone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Leone gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Leone controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself.
Leone is looking to sweep but instead, Jackson has passed into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Walther Leone will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Leone shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Leone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Leone fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson dives in and grabs Leone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leone pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Leone shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jackson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Leone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leone shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walther Leone. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jackson decides to pull guard.
Jackson is pulling down on Leone's head. It's preventing any offense from Leone, at least for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Leone wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Leone but Leone pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Leone parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Leone to escape.

Leone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Leone is trying to buck Jackson off.

Jackson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.
Leone fails in his attempt to clinch.
Leone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Leone, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Leone against the cage but Leone circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Leone's guard.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Leone works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walther Leone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson is working Leone over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
