Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grady Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meyers has chosen The Fucked Jam by Ween as his entrance music. The key to victory for Richard Nixon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Nixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grady Meyers! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nixon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Meyers counters with a single leg into guard. Nixon didn't expect that. Nixon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Meyers wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving. Meyers tries to free his leg and advance position but Nixon is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meyers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Meyers wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving. Meyers preventing the sweep. Nixon controls Meyers momentarily but Meyers frees himself. Meyers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nixon defending against the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nixon is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Meyers goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nixon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Meyers's guard! Nice work there by Nixon! Meyers looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Meyers kicks Nixon off and gets to his feet. Meyers blocks a head kick by Nixon.
Nixon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nixon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meyers is fending him off so far but Nixon persists. Nope, Meyers circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nixon lands with a slapping head kick. Richard Nixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nixon tries to clinch but fails miserably and Meyers counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Meyers. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nixon throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Meyers throws a strike but Nixon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nixon wants to stand but Meyers is controlling his posture from full guard. Nixon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nixon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nixon throws a big elbow that misses. Nixon preventing the sweep. Nixon wants to stand but Meyers is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Nixon is in a dominant position and won't allow it. That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Nixon lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nixon slips nicely into half guard. Nixon decides to stand up. Nixon tries to bum rush Meyers with a series of wild strikes but Meyers uses good footwork to avoid the assault. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nixon fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Nixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nixon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Meyers counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nixon! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grady Meyers dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt. Nixon tries to clinch up. Nixon wants to clinch up but Meyers keeps it at a distance. Nixon throws a wild body kick that Meyers sees coming a mile off. Nixon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nixon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Meyers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nixon won't be happy with that. Nixon can't do much from the bottom here. Meyers moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Nixon is trying to control Meyers's posture but Meyers avoids it. Meyers decides to stand back up. Meyers steps back and let's Nixon get back to his feet. Meyers slaps away a takedown attempt from Nixon, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nixon pushes Meyers up against the cage in a clinch. Meyers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nixon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meyers. Richard Nixon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nixon fails with the takedown and Meyers counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Nixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meyers is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Nixon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nixon. Meyers controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Meyers won't allow Nixon to get back to his feet. Meyers wants to stand but Nixon has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Meyers trying to control the position from guard on top but Nixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Meyers being controlled here momentarily.

Grady Meyers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Nixon shoots in and drives through. Meyers sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nixon. Meyers throws a head kick but Nixon moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nixon gets a clinch. Nixon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Meyers after a bit of a struggle. Meyers stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Meyers tries to pull guard but Nixon forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Meyers is trying to pull guard but Nixon has him pressed against the cage. Meyers drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Meyers obliges. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nixon is trying to push Meyers away but Meyers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grady Meyers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Meyers in particular looking to stall. Nixon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Meyers is working away from the top position though. Nixon is refusing to be controlled, as Meyers sits in half guard. Nixon tries to get to full guard but Meyers has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Nixon trying to hold on to Meyers's head to control him but Meyers postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Meyers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nixon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Meyers advances position into side control! Grady Meyers has got the better of the ground game so far. Meyers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nixon manages to get back to half guard. Meyers wants to work for an arm triangle but Nixon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nixon manages to get to full guard.
Nixon wants to sweep here but Meyers controlling him for the moment. Nixon pushes Meyers off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Nixon misses with a takedown attempt - Meyers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Nixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers circles away from the clinch attempt and Meyers counters with a leg kick. Nixon tries to clinch but Meyers is having none of it. Nixon scores with a kick to the midsection. Meyers dives in and scores a takedown into Nixon's guard. Nixon looking for a guillotine here but Meyers defends easily.
Nixon can't keep his opponent in guard - Meyers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nixon is trying to maintain the position but Meyers is very close to passing his half guard. Nixon wants to improve his position but Meyers is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nixon wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Grady Meyers. I've got Meyers winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
