Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Linh Munn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Arona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Motivation. Arona has chosen Knock you out! as his entrance music. Jon Arona will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Linh Munn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Arona!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arona throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Arona gets caught flat footed, as Munn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Arona keeping full guard, as Munn tries to pass.

Arona is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Arona preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Munn is stalling in the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Arona is on top in guard.
Munn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Arona!
Arona is working to get back to half guard.
Arona bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arona postures up.

Arona drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Munn dives on top into guard.
Munn's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Arona has momentary wrist control but Munn slips an elbow through the middle.
Munn is looking to work some ground and pound but Arona has wrist control.

Arona escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Munn lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Munn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Munn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Arona keeping full guard, as Munn tries to pass.

Arona escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Munn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Arona's guard.
Munn performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Munn slips a nice elbow through Arona's hands, connecting with Arona's forehead.
Munn drops an elbow to the side of Arona's head.
Arona is staying active underneath Munn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Munn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Arona is not content to let Munn control the position.
Munn slips a nice elbow through Arona's hands, connecting with Arona's forehead.

Munn is trying for a kimura here. Arona looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Munn wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Linh Munn!
After the fight, Linh Munn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
