The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Marrodona. Beautiful body shot.
Hattori dodges the punch combination from Marrodona.

and Marrodona counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hattori moves out of range of the strikes.

Marrodona won't let Hattori get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Hattori is controlling an arm, preventing Marrodona from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Hattori lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hattori shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marrodona pinned against the cage. Marrodona gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ricardo Marrodona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oda Hattori.
Hattori gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Marrodona darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Marrodona is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Marrodona manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hattori on his heels. He'll look to pass Hattori's guard now, I'm sure.

Marrodona is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hattori is just riding it out for now. Marrodona eventually gives up the hold.

Marrodona throws a nice looking combination but Hattori bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Marrodona shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marrodona controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Marrodona is pushing down on Hattori's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hattori is fighting to maintain full guard but Marrodona has managed to sneak the leg through.
Marrodona uses his free foot to push down on Hattori's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hattori.

Marrodona is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hattori has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hattori!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marrodona is on top in guard.
