Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ian Somerhalder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Somerhalder kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Clawfinger - God Is Dead. Ian Somerhalder had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots for a double leg takedown but Somerhalder sprawls well. He's pushed Maia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ian Somerhalder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia keeps the fight on the outside.
Somerhalder throws a right and a left that Maia avoids nicely.

Maia looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Somerhalder has picked Maia up and slammed him! Maia can't keep hold of the triangle and Somerhalder manages to pass to side control!

I would just about give that final round to John Maia.

After the fight, Ian Somerhalder was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
