The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Garcia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Garcia throws a series of punches but Brooking moves out of range.
Camden Brooking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brooking circles away quickly and effectively.

Brooking is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Garcia's half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brooking swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Garcia is now in Brooking's guard. A big mistake from Brooking there, giving up the dominant position!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Garcia tries to bum rush Brooking with a series of wild strikes but Brooking uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brooking shoots in for a double leg but Garcia sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Johnny Garcia decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
