The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch moves into the clinch.

Punch is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kipligati is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Punch is trying to control Kipligati's posture but Kipligati avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kipligati has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Punch is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kipligati yanks on the arm and Punch is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kipligati.

After the fight, Akeem Kipligati was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
