Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy Lopes is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes shoots and misses

and Shields counters with a single leg into guard. Lopes didn't expect that.
Shields trying to control the position from guard on top but Lopes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shields wants to pass the guard but Lopes is keeping the position.
Lopes doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Shields stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lopes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lopes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lopes has an active guard here but Shields has managed to pass into half guard.
Lopes gets full guard.

Lopes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lopes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shields defends well.

Shields stops Lopes from standing up.
Lopes is breathing heavily.
Shields passes Lopes's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Shields is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lopes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shields.

Lopes is defending against the submission attempts here by Shields.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shields wants to control but Lopes is keeping him busy.

Shields prevents Lopes from standing back up.

Shields is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lopes defends it well.
Shields is pressing down on Lopes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lopes is holding on for now.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shields in particular looking to stall.

Shields maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lopes could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shields has cracked it and Lopes is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shields!
