Horrible takedown by Salmon or perhaps it was just good defense by Pol which made him look bad.
Pol throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Salmon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Pol tries a low kick but Salmon avoids it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Salmon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Pol lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Salmon circles away quickly and effectively.

Salmon moves in looking to clinch but Pol pushes him off.

Pol leaves Salmon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Salmon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salmon is breathing heavily.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pol tries to kick Salmon off but Salmon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Pol tries to get to full guard but Salmon has control of the leg.
Pol on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pol tries to get out of the position.
Pol is trying to maintain the position but Salmon is very close to passing his half guard.
Pol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salmon on the ground.
Salmon is keen to just control but Pol is a slippery customer.
Pol keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salmon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Salmon in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pol tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Salmon!
