The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGregor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Helguera was covering up waiting for the punch and McGregor finishes the takedown easily into guard.

McGregor is looking to advance position but Helguera has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Helguera looking for a guillotine from mount but McGregor is having none of it.
Helguera looking to control but McGregor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
McGregor tries to hold on but Helguera pushes him away.
McGregor is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
McGregor is controlling an arm, preventing Helguera from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Helguera throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McGregor manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Helguera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Helguera is looking for a kimura but McGregor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Helguera to get the leverage.
