Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helio Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashid Evans! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Evans. Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Evans shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Evans finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Evans is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gracie is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Evans has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Evans is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Evans quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Evans but it's paid off an Gracie is forced to tap! Nice work by Evans.
