14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Derek Riggs! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggs throws a hook but Mellark avoids it easily. A big left from Riggs misses. Mellark misses the shot to the body. Mellark misses with a straight right. Riggs scores with a jab to the body. Mellark scores with a leg kick.
Riggs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mellark manages to avoid it. Riggs connects with a nice looking jab.

Riggs walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Mellark takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nice defenses there by Mellark. Mellark tests Riggs's chin there with a solid looking shot. Mellark throws a head kick but Riggs moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mellark ducks under a wild hook from Riggs. Derek Riggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mellark defending well as Riggs loads up on a big left hand. Mellark connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Riggs throws a nice looking combination but Mellark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mellark throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Riggs darts in and out, connecting with a jab. and Mellark counters with a nice kick to the body. Mellark moves away from the strike by Riggs. Mellark slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riggs looks to land a right hand but Mellark moved out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riggs thows a body shot but no joy. Derek Riggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riggs thows a left - swing and a miss! Mellark scores with a jab to the head.
Mellark's jab looks to have found its range, popping Riggs under the eye. Riggs has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mellark finds it's way round the side to connect with Riggs's head. Riggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Riggs not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mellark is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Riggs moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Mellark! Riggs continues to tee off on Mellark, landing with a left and a right! Riggs connects with a right hand that leaves Mellark sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Riggs!
