Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kisame Hoshigaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luis Dario! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoshigaki stuffs the takedown attempt from Dario. Dario gets slowly back to his feet. Dario throws a jab when Hoshigaki was well out of range. Dario shoots in for a double leg but Hoshigaki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nice sprawl there from Hoshigaki as Dario shoots in. Kisame Hoshigaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Dario. Dario throws a sloppy body shot
and Hoshigaki counters with a shoot takedown. Dario fights it but they end up in guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dario can do anything to dispel that myth. Dario pulls Hoshigaki in close to prevent any damage. Hoshigaki working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Hoshigaki postures up and lands a big shot to Dario's brow. Hoshigaki with a nice head shot there. Hoshigaki throwing strikes but missing. Hoshigaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Dario has wrist control. Hoshigaki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hoshigaki wants to control from the top but Dario keeps moving. Hoshigaki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dario is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoshigaki wants to control but Dario is keeping busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hoshigaki is looking to escape. Hoshigaki is looking to control Dario's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hoshigaki avoid being mounted? Hoshigaki trying to get back to full guard but Dario takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Hoshigaki is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dario looking to finish with strikes here!
Dario landing strikes, looking to finish! Dario is landing with some decent strikes but Hoshigaki is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Dario with a couple of short strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dario with shots to the head and body - Hoshigaki looks very uncomfortable down there. Hoshigaki is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Dario locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Hoshigaki is forced to tap!
