Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Van Gogh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Braddock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Gogh's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Carl Orff - O Fortuna. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Van Gogh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Braddock!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Gogh feints and as Braddock raises his hands in defense, Van Gogh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Braddock looking for a sweep. Not yet Braddock, not yet.
Van Gogh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Braddock is keeping the position for now.
Van Gogh throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Braddock works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Van Gogh is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Braddock kicks Van Gogh off and gets to his feet.
Braddock throws a series of punches but Van Gogh avoids them all with ease.
Braddock keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Van Gogh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Braddock as he avoids it easily.

Braddock throws a lazy right hand but Van Gogh sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vincent Van Gogh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Braddock fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Gogh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Braddock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Van Gogh was well out of range. Poor timing from Braddock.
Van Gogh shoots for a takedown but Braddock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Van Gogh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Braddock circles away.
Van Gogh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Van Gogh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Braddock but Braddock pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Van Gogh misses with a low kick.
Braddock throws a nice outside leg kick.

A decent looking cross lands there for Braddock.
Van Gogh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Braddock goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Braddock's corner calls for a 1-2. Braddock obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Braddock misses with a body shot.
Braddock tries a head kick but it misses.
Braddock cracks a nice hook into Van Gogh's ribs.
Van Gogh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Braddock avoids it really well and circles away.
Braddock ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Gogh moves away.
Braddock lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Van Gogh dives in and scores a takedown into Braddock's guard.
Van Gogh wants to control from the top but Braddock keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Braddock utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Braddock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Van Gogh manages to get himself to full guard.
Braddock wants to control from the top but Van Gogh keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Van Gogh has Braddock pulled in close to control his posture.
Van Gogh controls Braddock momentarily but Braddock frees himself.
Van Gogh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Van Gogh is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Braddock dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Van Gogh shoots in looking for a takedown but Braddock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Van Gogh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
James Braddock seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Braddock displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Van Gogh.

Braddock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Van Gogh manages to avoid it.
Braddock misses with a straight left.
Horrible takedown by Van Gogh or perhaps it was just good defense by Braddock which made him look bad.
Braddock defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Van Gogh.
Braddock with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Van Gogh avoids the head kick by Braddock.
Braddock scores with a body shot.
A slapping body kick lands there for Braddock.

Braddock misses with a few strikes there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Braddock digs a good body shot into Van Gogh's ribs.
Van Gogh gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Braddock fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Braddock connects with a jab.
Van Gogh checks a leg kick.
Braddock lands a nice hook to Van Gogh's body. Van Gogh takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Braddock bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Van Gogh's head backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Van Gogh drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Van Gogh is rocked!
Van Gogh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oh Van Gogh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Van Gogh has his takedown stuffed
and Braddock counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Van Gogh has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Braddock!
