Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Connor Callaher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Coates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coates comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The XX - Angels (Love Thy Brother Remix) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Connor Callaher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyler Coates! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coates throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Callaher throws a head kick that Coates semi-blocks.
It looks like Tyler Coates has been cut. Callaher defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Coates. Callaher tries to clinch but Coates moves out of range. A cross from Coates lands. Callaher drives through and clinches with Coates against the cage.
Coates tries to pull guard but Callaher holds him up against the cage and eventually Coates drops back down to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Callaher breaks the clinch.
Coates rushes Callaher and presses him up against the cage. Callaher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Callaher rushes Coates and presses him up against the cage. Callaher keeps control of Coates as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Coates misses with an elbow over the top. Coates tries to pull guard but Callaher won't allow it.
Connor Callaher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Coates. Callaher breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Callaher throws a head kick but Coates moves out of range.
Callaher tries to clinch up. No luck for Callaher with that takedown attempt. Coates looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Callaher had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Coates defends it easily. Coates avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Coates trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Callaher is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coates defends well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Callaher is breathing heavily. Callaher is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coates defends well. Coates tries to stand but Callaher is controlling from the bottom. Callaher working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coates doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coates manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Callaher throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Coates slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Coates got a little sloppy there for a moment and Callaher has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coates has managed to get both his arms back between Callaher's legs - danger averted. Callaher is looking for a triangle but Coates pushes his legs off easily.
Coates stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callaher swivels though and keeps the full guard. Coates wants to control from the top but Callaher keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Coates is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tyler Coates wasn't active enough on the ground. A head kick misses from Callaher. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Connor Callaher dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tyler Coates's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Callaher lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Callaher tries to clinch but Coates moves out of range. Callaher stuffs the takedown attempt from Coates. Coates gets slowly back to his feet. Callaher moves into range and clinches up with Coates. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Callaher successfully pulls guard.
Coates chips away with some ground and pound. Callaher is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Coates frees his head nicely. Oh but Callaher has switched to an armbar! Coates is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
