Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis deFunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Lidae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lidae comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lighters kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Lidae!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lidae moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lidae throws an off balance right hand
and deFunes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
deFunes throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Steven Lidae has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
deFunes throws a half hearted mid kick.
deFunes lands a head kick!
Lidae tries to move into range but deFunes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lidae closes the distance and clinches.
deFunes lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lidae or not.
Lidae is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but deFunes is defending well.
deFunes pushes Lidae back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lidae fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lidae tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Luis deFunes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Lidae.

Lidae ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lidae no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
deFunes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
deFunes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lidae jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as deFunes walks away with a smile on his face. Lidae gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Steven Lidae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
deFunes tries to keep at a distance but Lidae has taken the fight into the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by deFunes.

A short right hand to the side of the head by deFunes.

deFunes throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lidaes head.

Lidae tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. deFunes just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lidae jumps guard but deFunes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
deFunes gets through Lidae's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
deFunes lands a body shot in the clinch.
deFunes's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

deFunes working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
deFunes lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lidae backwards.
deFunes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lidae throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lidae throws a poor cross that misses
enabling deFunes to counter with a crisp jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lidae crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from deFunes - the referee stops the clock and Lidae gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says deFunes. Lidae manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

deFunes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Whack! deFunes lands a heavy head kick that drops Lidae. The ref tackles deFunes to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Lidae was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Luis deFunes!
Luis deFunes was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
