The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels stuffs the takedown.
Mitchum on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mitchum shoots for a takedown but Michaels saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mitchum. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Mitchum tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Michaels swivels and escapes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mitchum has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Michaels.
Michaels pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michaels lands a head kick. Mitchum smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Michaels! Mitchum is out on his feet! Michaels rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mitchum is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mitchum is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

After winning the bout, Shawn Michaels thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
