Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Trudeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fire has chosen Skrillex - Ruffneck as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Fire! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trudeau will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fire fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Trudeau is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fire sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Fire wants to clinch up but Trudeau keeps it at a distance. Fire dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A left lands for Fire. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This has been an exciting period of action! Trudeau swats away the attempt to clinch by Fire. Fire gets in close and instigates a clinch. Fire wants to break free but Trudeau has control.

Trudeau has Fire pressed against the cage, preventing Fire from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Fire wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fire is trying to break free. Trudeau is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fire pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacques Trudeau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fire looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Still in the clinch, Fire scores with a nice short uppercut. Fire is trying to force a seperation but Trudeau has the dominant position.

He used the cage to his advantage there. Fire breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trudeau shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Fire pushes Trudeau up against the cage in a clinch. Fire leaning his opponent against the cage. Fire breaks from the clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Fire looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fire tries to clinch but Trudeau moves out of range. Trudeau swats away the attempt to clinch by Fire. Trudeau shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Trudeau showed some decent athleticism there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Trudeau thows a huge punch but Fire dodges it nicely.

Fire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trudeau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Trudeau thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Trudeau working over Fire with some ground and pound. Fire looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Trudeau is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fire is just riding it out for now. Trudeau eventually gives up the hold. Trudeau thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

No, Fire has managed to free his arm - good work. Trudeau wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fire keeps working. Fire has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Trudeau is working away from the top position though. Trudeau throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trudeau is nestled in close to Fire, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trudeau lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frankie Fire will probably get the nod. That's time! Trudeau's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Trudeau feints and as Fire raises his hands in defense, Trudeau changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Trudeau trying to control but Fire is working from the bottom. Fire wants to stand up but Trudeau is controlling him. Trudeau drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trudeau jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Trudeau is looking to work some ground and pound but Fire has wrist control. Trudeau postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fire utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Trudeau thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Trudeau throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jacques Trudeau overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trudeau throwing strikes from guard but Fire blocks nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fire can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trudeau trying to control the position from guard on top but Fire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fire working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Trudeau. Trudeau with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Trudeau here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Trudeau trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Trudeau is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Trudeau is pushing down on Fire's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fire is fighting to maintain full guard but Trudeau has managed to sneak the leg through. Trudeau works his way into full mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Trudeau cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
It looks like Frankie Fire has been cut. Trudeau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Trudeau thowing shots but they're missing. Trudeau with shots to the head and body - Fire looks very uncomfortable down there. Fire working to try and regain half guard.
BOOM! Trudeau connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fire is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trudeau cracks Fire with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacques Trudeau! Our winner, Jacques Trudeau, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
