Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rich Marshland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick Hardison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardison has chosen Get Low as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rich Marshland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendrick Hardison!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshland tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hardison swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hardison bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Marshland shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hardison as he jumps to the side.
Marshland rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hardison counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Marshland avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hardison lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hardison.
Hardison throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Hardison shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marshland's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marshland is trying to control the position but Hardison postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hardison changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marshland looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

and Hardison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hardison shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Marshland is trying to defend but Hardison finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hardison lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Marshland slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Marshland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hardison holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Hardison won't allow Marshland to pass to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hardison can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marshland looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardison with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marshland has a takedown stuffed.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marshland enables Hardison to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marshland manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hardison fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marshland sprawls well initially but Hardison persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hardison pushes Marshland off and gets back to his feet.

Hardison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hardison seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hardison takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kendrick Hardison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hardison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Kendrick Hardison spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
