Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shane Carwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Loco!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco shoots for a takedown but Carwin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No luck for Loco with that takedown attempt.
Carwin stuffs the takedown attempt from Loco. Loco gets slowly back to his feet.
Shane Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco.
Loco slaps away a takedown attempt from Carwin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Loco dives in and grabs Carwin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carwin pushes down on Loco's head and hops out.
Carwin shoots in for a takedown but Loco shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Carwin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carwin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carwin landing some decent shots from guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carwin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Carwin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Loco working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carwin.
Carwin lands a couple of elbows.
Carwin works over Loco with some ground and pound from guard.
Carwin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carwin is looking to advance position but Loco has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Carwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Loco on the ground.
Carwin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Carwin is breathing heavily.
Loco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Loco looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Carwin wants to get back to his feet.
Loco trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Loco looking to isolate an arm here. Carwin doesn't see it coming and as Loco extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Loco!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). El Loco!
El Loco decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
