Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Pushkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francis Pushkar!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pushkar misses the jab.
Sloppy strikes from Savage. Those never looked like landing.
Pushkar tries a head kick but it misses.
Pushkar slips a jab and a cross from Savage.
Pushkar lunges at Savage with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Savage's hand.
Savage moves away from the strike by Pushkar.
Pushkar lands a nice shot that snaps Savage's head back.
Pushkar slips a straight right by Savage.
Pushkar stuffs the takedown.

Pushkar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Savage to the mat! Savage manages to get full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Pushkar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage is trying to keep Pushkar in close.
Pushkar wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.
Pushkar is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Pushkar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Savage swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Francis Pushkar wasn't active enough on the ground.
A combination from Savage does no damage.
Pushkar misses with a series of wild punches.
Pushkar connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Savage throws a right and a left that Pushkar avoids nicely.
Pushkar moves into range and connects with a jab.
Savage lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Pushkar slips a jab and a cross from Savage.

A telegraphed right hand from Pushkar misses the target.
Pushkar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Savage is fending him off so far but Pushkar persists. Nope, Savage circles away and we're back to standing.

Savage uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pushkar.
Pushkar shoots in for a double leg but Savage sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pushkar lands with an overhand left.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pushkar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pushkar throws a nice looking combination but Savage bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Pushkar bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Savage's head backwards.
Pushkar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Roy Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Francis Pushkar.
Savage lands a lovely overhand right.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pushkar, as that shot connected.
Savage swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Savage blocks a jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Savage checks a leg kick.
Savage shoots in but no luck this time.

Savage shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Savage misses with a low kick.
Savage steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pushkar.
Savage shoots for a takedown but Pushkar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pushkar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pushkar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Savage on the side of the head.
Savage slips a straight right by Pushkar.

and Pushkar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pushkar seems to be working for a kimura but Savage defends the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pushkar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pushkar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Savage trying to control here.
Savage wants to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pushkar is trying to work for a kimura but Savage is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Francis Pushkar dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Pushkar throws a hook but Savage blocks it.
Pushkar lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
No joy there for Savage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Savage takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Savage throws a right hand that Pushkar ducks under and follows up with a left that Pushkar also avoids with ease.
Pushkar throws a lazy right hand but Savage sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pushkar missing with a left hand there. Savage was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Savage throws a series of punches but Pushkar avoids them all with ease.
Pushkar checks the leg kick nicely there.
Francis Pushkar seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pushkar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Savage closes the distance and clinches up with Pushkar, looking for a takedown. Savage pushes Pushkar against the cage but Pushkar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Savage moves out of range of the strikes.
Pushkar avoids the body shot from Savage.
Pushkar might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Pushkar drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pushkar wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.
Pushkar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Savage might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Savage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pushkar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pushkar throws an elbow that misses. Savage uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pushkar's guard. Nice move by Savage!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pushkar holds on and takes a little breather.

Savage cracks Pushkar with a solid left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pushkar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savage defends well.
Pushkar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Savage stands up over Pushkar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Savage wants to pass the guard but Pushkar is keeping the position.
Pushkar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Pushkar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Savage gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pushkar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Pushkar is tightening it up a little... Savage has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Savage reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Savage taps out! Nice BJJ there by Pushkar!
