Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jone King! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonny Webbs! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Webbs. King throws a right and a left that Webbs avoids nicely. King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Webbs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat. King fails with the takedown and Webbs counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jone King. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Webbs looking to pass the guard. Webbs forces his way into half guard. Webbs wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Webbs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Webbs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily. Webbs trying to mount his opponent but King defends it. King is trying to stand up here but Webbs is controlling him well. Webbs wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs. Webbs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and King defends it well. Webbs is looking to advance position but King won't allow it.

King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Webbs on the ground. Webbs wants to pass to mount but King is defending the position. Webbs stops King from getting back to his feet.

Webbs has control of King's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and King regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webbs is going oldschool here, as he tries to force King to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so King shrugs it off. Webbs swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
