Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenden Conlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes into the arena with Viisi laukausta päähän blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Billy Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brenden Conlin! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conlin wants to clinch so Scott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Scott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Conlin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Scott with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Conlin has Scott pulled in close to control his posture. Scott pushing down on Conlin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Scott thows a huge punch but Conlin dodges it nicely.
Scott is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scott moves into full mount! Conlin won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Conlin turns into him and now he's in Scott's guard.
Conlin wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. Conlin passes Scott's left leg - he's now in half guard. Conlin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott is staying active underneath Conlin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Scott is pressing down on Conlin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Conlin is looking to work some ground and pound but Scott has wrist control. Conlin wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. Scott trying to keep a closed guard but Conlin is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott pulls Conlin in to control the position. Conlin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Scott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Conlin, into his guard. Conlin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Conlin is retaining full guard. Scott is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Scott connects with a couple of short punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott working some strikes from top position. Conlin trying to control the position.
Conlin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Scott slips nicely into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Scott lands a nice short elbow. Scott stands up out of the half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Conlin tries to clinch but Scott moves out of range. Scott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Conlin is fending him off so far but Scott persists. Nope, Conlin circles away and we're back to standing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Conlin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Scott back to the cage. Conlin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Conlin looking to score a takedown here. Scott is defending well but Conlin drives through and ends up in Scott's guard. Conlin wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Billy Scott will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Conlin shoots in and drives through. Scott sprawls well. Scott tries for a takedown but Conlin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Scott fails with the takedown and Conlin counters with a nice body shot. Brenden Conlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Conlin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Conlin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Conlin tries to control but Scott wriggling away. Conlin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conlin punishing his opponent with strikes. Scott holds on for dear life, controlling Conlin's posture momentarily. Scott wants to hold on but Conlin pushes him away. Conlin landing strikes, looking to finish! Scott tries to reverse the position but Conlin maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conlin goes for an armbar but Scott turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Scott. Scott throwing strikes from guard but Conlin blocks nicely. Scott thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scott drops back looking for a leg! Conlin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Conlin manages to kick Scott off! Scott jumps back into Conlin's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Conlin is on top in guard.
Billy Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott keeping moving, preventing Conlin from controlling successfully. Conlin showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Conlin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brenden Conlin wasn't active enough on the ground. Conlin is looking to land body kicks. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Conlin looks to clinch and Scott counters with a shoot takedown. Conlin fights it but they end up in guard. Scott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Scott throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Scott is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Conlin has managed to free his arm - good work. Conlin is looking to escape. Scott is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Conlin still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Conlin has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Scott manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conlin stalling away here and it's allowed Scott to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Conlin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Conlin advances to half guard. Conlin is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Scott is not content to let Conlin control the position. Conlin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conlin wants to control but Scott is keeping him busy. Scott tries to roll over but Conlin keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conlin is trying to control the action in half guard but Scott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brenden Conlin. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Conlin is defended easily by Scott. Nice takedown defense from Scott. No joy for Conlin on that attempt. Conlin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Scott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Conlin is in Scott's guard. Scott not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Conlin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Conlin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Conlin throws an elbow that misses. Scott uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Conlin's guard. Nice move by Scott! Scott not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Scott wants to control from the top but Conlin keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scott thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brenden Conlin. I think Scott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
