Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donnovan Milliner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnovan Milliner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Liddell! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell slaps away a takedown attempt from Milliner, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Liddell. No joy for Milliner on that attempt. Milliner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Liddell sprawls well initially but Milliner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Milliner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Liddell is defending against the submission attempts here by Milliner.

Milliner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Liddell. Tyler Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Milliner shoots in but no luck this time. Liddell lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Liddell cracks Milliner with an open hand slap. Liddell tries to close the distance and clinch but Milliner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Milliner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Liddell! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Milliner goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Liddell turns into him and now he's in Milliner's guard.

Liddell throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Milliner works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Liddell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Milliner wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy and won't allow it. Milliner keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Liddell wants to work for an arm triangle but Milliner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Milliner wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Liddell tries to stand but Milliner is controlling from the bottom. Milliner seems to have got his legs back now. Donnovan Milliner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Milliner working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Milliner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Liddell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Liddell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Liddell! Milliner manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Milliner looking for submissions off his back. Milliner keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Milliner throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Milliner regains full guard. Nicely done. Liddell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Milliner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liddell has managed to get both his arms back between Milliner's legs - danger averted. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Milliner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
