Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baar Nimbou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Great Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baar Nimbou has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Baar Nimbou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Great Pete!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nimbou shoots in looking for a takedown. Pete tries to sprawl out of it but Nimbou keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pete manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nimbou looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pete is fending him off so far but Nimbou persists. Nope, Pete circles away and we're back to standing.
Pete displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nimbou.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Baar Nimbou. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nimbou gets caught napping as Pete dives in and scores a takedown. Nimbou manages to retain guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pete trying to control but Nimbou is working from the bottom.

Pete stands and steps away. Nimbou gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nimbou doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pete counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pete winds up and cracks Nimbou with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pete connects with a nice short shot to Nimbou's temple.

Pete decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Pete shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nimbou's guard.
Pete controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pete distracts Nimbou with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pete is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nimbou had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pete defends it easily.

Nimbou has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pete can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nimbou is breathing heavily.
Pete trying to control the position from guard on top but Nimbou is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pete gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Nimbou fails to land the takedown.

Pete shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nimbou but Nimbou pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nimbou shoots in but no luck this time.

Pete feints and as Nimbou raises his hands in defense, Pete changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nimbou moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Pete stands up from Nimbou's guard - Pete perhaps looking for a knockout.

Pete shoots in and gets a takedown into Nimbou's guard.

Pete connects with a couple of short punches.
Pete landing with the ground and pound.
Nimbou has momentary wrist control but Pete slips an elbow through the middle.
Nimbou keeping moving, preventing Pete from controlling successfully.
Nimbou can't keep his opponent in guard - Pete advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Pete is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nimbou sees it coming and defends easily.
Pete looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Nimbou looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Pete stops Nimbou from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pete connects with a nice short shot to Nimbou's temple.
Pete has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Pete seems to be working for a kimura but Nimbou defends the submission attempt.

Pete stands up out of the half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nimbou misses with a takedown attempt - Pete sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pete changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nimbou tries to avoid it but Pete manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nimbou to the ground. Nimbou escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nimbou slips a jab and a cross from Pete.
Pete has a takedown stuffed.

Pete drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nimbou keeping moving, preventing Pete from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Great Pete dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nimbou shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pete has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pete closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pete in side control lands a decent elbow.
Pete is looking to take a break and control but Nimbou is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pete tries for a kimura but Nimbou is defending well.
Pete remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Pete lands a nice forearm strike.
Nimbou struggling a bit here.
Nimbou is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pete asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Pete wants to control but Nimbou is keeping him busy.

Nimbou is looking to reverse the position.
Pete scores with punches from side control.
Nimbou is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pete connects with a decent elbow.

Pete has hold of Nimbou's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Nimbou seems comfortable defending it but Pete has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Nimbou is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Nimbou is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pete couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Great Pete!
Great Pete seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
