Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihiro Takamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoto Togawa!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takamura shoots in but no luck this time.

Togawa moves into range and clinches up with Takamura.
Togawa keeps control of Takamura as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Takamura jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Togawa walks away with a smile on his face. Takamura gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Takamura stuffs the takedown.

Togawa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Togawa lands in his opponent's guard.
Togawa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Takamura looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Togawa puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Togawa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Togawa stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Takamura to get to his feet.

Togawa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Takamura is trying to defend but Togawa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Togawa decides to stand up, so the ref orders Takamura to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
An elbow from Togawa crashes against the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Togawa stands up and beckons Takamura to his feet.
Takamura is breathing heavily.

Takamura tries to pull guard but Togawa forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Togawa tightens his grip and picks Takamura up, before dumping him to the ground. Takamura manages to land in guard.

Takamura is working an open guard so Togawa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Togawa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Togawa looks to land a combination. Takamura sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Yoshihiro Takamura has been cut.
Togawa scores with a jab to the body.

Togawa has taken the fight to the clinch.

Togawa pulls guard successfully.

Togawa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Togawa is on top in guard.

Togawa gets to his feet. Takamura looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Takamura tries to keep at a distance but Togawa has taken the fight into the clinch.

Togawa drags the fight down to the ground.

Togawa is looking for a triangle but Takamura pushes his legs off easily.

Togawa manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Togawa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Takamura is trying to defend but Togawa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Togawa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Togawa not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Togawa uses his free foot to push down on Takamura's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Takamura.
Takamura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Togawa on the ground.

Togawa stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Togawa feints and as Takamura raises his hands in defense, Togawa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ouch! a nice leg kick from Togawa, right into the meat.
Takamura looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Togawa is fending him off so far but Takamura persists. Nope, Togawa circles away and we're back to standing.

and Togawa counters with a single leg into guard. Takamura didn't expect that.
Togawa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Togawa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Takamura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Togawa's guard.

Togawa wants to work for an arm triangle but Takamura is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Togawa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Poor strikes thrown by Togawa there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Naoto Togawa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Togawa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
