Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Cormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Vasiliev! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cormier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A combination from Cormier does no damage. Cormier throws a series of strikes that have Vasiliev backpedaling.
It looks like Oleg Vasiliev has been cut. Cormier swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vasiliev moves out of range as Cormier throws a body kick.
Corey Cormier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cormier finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Cormier goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Cormier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A punch combination from Cormier misses. Cormier misses with the combination.

A right-left combo lands from Cormier. Cormier throws a series of punches but Vasiliev avoids them all with ease. Cormier throws a series of punches but Vasiliev moves out of range. Vasiliev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vasiliev wants to control but Cormier is keeping him busy. Vasiliev has hold of Cormier's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Cormier seems comfortable defending it but Vasiliev has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Cormier is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Cormier is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vasiliev couldn't care less - he's delighted!
