Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rermes Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Esta me Dinero!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dinero tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracie blocks a head kick by Dinero.
Dinero shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dinero doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dinero is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gracie looking to pass the guard.
Gracie trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gracie postures up in Dinero's guard and throws a big left but Dinero blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Dinero is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dinero wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.
Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Dinero slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.
Dinero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dinero trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Dinero from controlling successfully.
Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dinero trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dinero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dinero loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dinero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dinero has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dinero should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Dinero should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
